Homeless Education Resource Network

Helping students who are homeless succeed in school!

Our task — to give full support and resources to students, who are temporarily without homes. That way, they can have stable learning experiences in school.

Our hope — that students who are homeless receive what they need to make the most of their education. This includes materials, guidance, and support.

Mentoring that matters!

Mpact is our new mentoring program designed to positively impact Boston Public School students who are homeless by providing them with mentors and experiences that develop their character and empower their future. To learn more about the program, download the Mpact brochure.

From HSI to HERN

After 20 years, what used to be the Homeless Student Initiative is now the Homeless Education Resource Network. We changed the name to better reflect the growth of the resources and services we provide.

A New Look and Feel

We have launched our website. All of our materials and resources have been re-designed to make us more visible in your community. We hope you find our resources more user-friendly and informational. As always, please send us your opinions.

Better Communication

We have developed an electronic newsletter, The Insider. The Insider will let you know of upcoming events and programs. It may also increase what you know about the needs of students who are homeless.
